New Strings
To stabilize the string and maximize tone, tune your new strings to pitch and let them settle for as long as possible before re-tuning and playing.
Never cut or trim a string before it is installed and tuned to pitch.

Maintenance
After playing, use a clean soft dry cloth to wipe your strings. Wiping between the strings and fingerboard also reduces wear on your frets and fretboard. Clean strings retain their brilliance longer.

Intonation/Adjustable Bridge
Check the intonation of each open string at the 12th fret. If the note is sharp, increase the string length by moving the saddle back (away from the nut). If the note is flat, shorten the string length by moving the saddle forward (toward the nut).

Nuts & Saddles
To avoid string breakage, nut slots & saddles can be lightly lubricated with a pencil.

Changing Gauges ?
Tune your string set up a half step from (low to high)
E A D G B E to F Bb Eb Ab C F
The higher tuning will approximate the increased tension of a heavier gauged set and you can decide if it's appropriate for you and your instrument.

Scale Length
Strings have less tension on a shorter scale guitar.

Storage
Unused string sets can be stored indefinitely in a dry place.
